Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Alliance

President for 2019 -2020

Nic Kirby

Having been a member of the Alliance for almost 20 years it is an honour and a privilege to serve as your President  in 2020/2021. Many of you will recall that I assisted Alan Greenhill on the desk for 6 years, so I am well aware of all the efforts that go on behind the scene for the benefit of members and the Alliance in pursuit of our objectives.

The Covid-19 pandemic has and will have, a direct influence on us all, not only in our personal lives but in our efforts to play golf as we have done over many years. The virus has not 'gone away' and we must all play our part in stopping its spread. At the time of writing and until a suitable vaccine is produced, it is only our own immune system that will combat its influence. We all must abide by the rules applicable, particularly when visiting golf clubs.

In recognising what a difficult past year we have endured though the effects of weather and the Coronavirus, I would like to pay tribute to the immediate Past President, Tim Linnell and all Committee Members for steering us through difficult times. The Alliance would however not survive if it wasn't for its support of its members on whom it relies.

In accepting the Office of President for the ensuing year, I understand that what has gone before may well be different this year as we tread in 'unchartered waters'. My message to you all is. play well, enjoy each others company but above all else 'Stay Safe'.
